About

You know the board. You know the King must fall. Everything else has changed. Twilight of the Idols is a chess-inspired strategy game where every piece is a Hero with a rule-bending Talent of its own. The clean logic of chess is still here — ranks and files, forks and pins, one decisive King. Layered on top is a war of abilities, where every exchange has consequences and the player who reads them deeper wins. Every capture is a question In chess, taking a piece is good news. Here, it's a decision. Rina turns every capture into a second move. Ora turns her killer into a Sheep. Myra falls — then rises again on her capturer's square. Avengers lie in wait and only wake when you take the bait. Before you grab material, you'll learn to ask the question this game is built on: what happens next? A shared language of Traits Every Talent is built from a common vocabulary of Traits — Lifeshield, Phantom, Stun, Fronter, Deathrattle, Coordinated Attack and more. Learn a keyword once and you can read it on any Hero. Mastery is in the combinations: chain quiet Positional Moves into an army-wide maneuver, force bad trades through a Fronter, or offer a capture just to unleash an Avenger's counterstrike. Four classes, one board Brawlers start fights and convert bold captures into tempo. Assassins punish overextension, then vanish before the counterblow. Sentinels shield allies, lock down space, and warp across the board. Wardens make attacking them the most expensive mistake you can make. Heroes come from three worlds — Ira, Isax, and Lar — and each brings its own way of breaking the game. Death is not the end Your losses are resources. Pawns don't promote into generic pieces — they bring your last fallen Hero back to the fight. Inyx assimilates the movement of every captured ally, growing stronger as your army thins. Nero's death shields everyone standing beside him. A smaller army is not always a weaker one. Guard your Idols Anchoring each army stand the Castles — immovable bastions that cannot be taken while their Idols remain. Keep your Idols standing and your line holds. Let them fall, and the twilight begins. Features 17 Heroes across four classes, each with a unique Talent A shared Trait vocabulary that turns one-line keywords into deep combinations True chess bones — two armies, one board, victory by checkmate-level precision Built for the duel — outwit a rival, or sharpen your lines against the AI Every match a new puzzle of synergies, baits, and sacrifices The King must still fall. How you get there has never been so open.
