Hexwreck

Hexwreck is a short, sharp duel between two vehicles on a board of hexagons. You roll a die to find out how far you can move, you race for whatever is lying on the ground, and you shoot when the other one comes into range. There is nothing to unlock and nothing to memorise: the rules take five minutes, and after that only your position matters. A laser reaches three cells, a missile six, the machine gun only what it touches. A mine is visible to you alone. A robot spider you drop walks towards your opponent on its own, and it does not stop. Three ways to play: against the virtual opponent, two players sharing one computer, or two computers on your home network — and over the network each player reads in their own language. Fourteen boards, each giving a different game: the Corridor keeps everyone permanently in range, the Ring makes you chase each other in circles, the Bridges have two one-cell crossings you can mine. It works with no internet connection, asks for no account, shows no advertising and collects no data at all.
