About

Luna Lander is a homarge to the the 1979 coin-op classic on your PC, rebuilt from scratch with the glowing white vector line-work, the synthesised bleeps, and the white-knuckle final approach that made the original a landmark. There is no drag in space. The moment a round begins your module is falling, and the only thing between you and the rocks is the descent engine on its nose. Rotate to aim the engine, ease the throttle open, and trade fuel for altitude — but every second of burn is fuel you won't get back. THE LANDING IS EVERYTHING The moonscape is jagged rock from edge to edge, freshly generated every round, broken only by a handful of flat pads — each flashing a score multiplier from x2 to x5, the narrower the pad the bigger the payout. Both landing feet have to settle inside the same pad, slow and upright, or it's a crash no matter how gently you set down. Good landing — soft, level, on target. Pays big and refuels the tank. Hard landing — down in one piece, but too fast or too tilted. Fewer points, no fuel back. Crash — too hard, too steep, or short of the pad. The hull tumbles across the rocks. FUEL IS YOUR LIFE There are no lives. A crash costs you the hull for that round, not the game — the next moonscape is already waiting, with whatever fuel you had left. Land well and the fuel bonuses stretch your run; waste it hovering and the game ends the moment the tank runs dry. THE ABORT BUTTON Losing the approach? Hit abort. One press hands control to the ship for a moment and a half — it rights the tilt, kills your sideways drift, and hauls you into a climb whatever you were doing. It always works. It also drains fuel far faster than flying it by hand. Panic has a price. FOUR WAYS TO FLY Choose your difficulty at the title screen, straight from the arcade's own operator fuel settings: Training — 900 units of fuel, a stable ship. Cadet — 750 units. Prime — 600 units, and the module's tilt begins drifting on its own under thrust. Command — 450 units, the twitchiest ship and the least fuel to correct it with. Glowing vector outlines on black — every shape, letter and explosion drawn as line-work, no bitmaps. The cinematic camera that pulls in tight as you near the ground and pulls back once you're clear. Synthesised thrust, beeps and explosions, generated at startup — no audio files. The arcade's scoring: 50 / 15 / 5 points, the 50-unit fuel bonus, x2–x5 pads. Attract-mode title, how-to-fly and high-score screens cycling over an idle moonscape. A local top-five high-score table. NO STRINGS Completely offline. No account, no network connection, no ads, no in-app purchases, and no data collection of any kind. Just the game. CONTROLS Left / Right or A / D — rotate Up or W — thrust Space — abort (also launches from the title screen) P or Esc — pause Rotation is free; only the engine burns fuel. Run the tank completely dry and the module stops answering to anything at all. Requires Windows 10 version 1809 (64-bit) or later.
